Supporting Our Library, Enriching Our Community
The Friends of the Library
In Action!

The Friends of the Hopkinton Public Library provides funds for programs and services for all ages that are beyond the library's annual budget. This includes providing funds for performers, speakers and supplies for events chosen by staff for the Children, Young Adults, Adults and Seniors. We also fund the Adventure Passes, organize Lifelong Learning opportunities and run the popular English Language Learner's conversation Circles.

Reading Science Together
Announcing a new and exciting course at the library!

The Friends of the Library are proud to start the New Year with the first Science course offering: Let's Read Science Together. This four-session course will meet at the library January 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th at 10:30 am.

The New York Times Science section first appeared in 1978, and it has become a weekly read for our instructor, Pat McKean. In the four week offering, Pat will lead us in reading and discussing four issues of the New York Times Science section, which will introduce new ideas and exciting discoveries. A science background is not necessary to participate - all you need is curiosity!

Before each class, participants will be asked to read one science section of the Times from September 2025. Pat will then lead a lively conversation about our readings. Packets with each weeks readings will be available for pickup at the library.

To register, click on the microscope below, or call the library at 508-497-9777.
